Courage in crisis

Meet ZCHS Student Chloe Montague-Himmell

Zionsville Community High School student, Chloe Montague-Himmell, made an incredible difference by stopping to help during a serious car accident on I-70. Chloe's quick thinking and fluency in Spanish assisted EMS in providing care to those injured, especially the children. Thank you, Chloe, for your courage, compassion, and willingness to step up when it mattered most.

Mum Sale

S.O.A.R.S. Mum Sale 2024 Highlights

Students in the ZCHS S.O.A.R.S. (Student Opportunities for Achieving Real-Life Success) program had a successful annual ZCHS mum sale fundraiser, selling more than 1,200 mums. Students had a beautiful sunny day for families and community members to pick up their mums.

Students engaged 68 local businesses on Main Street and in Boone Village, and ZCS families and community members showed incredible support, ordering and picking up more than 500 mums. From taking orders and processing payments to ensuring accurate deliveries, students were hands-on in every step of the process. This fundraiser is an excellent opportunity for students to learn new skills and develop confidence. We appreciate the community's ongoing support —thank you for another successful sale.

Eagle Elementary
Kindergarten

Kindergarten students at Eagle Elementary have been learning about their five senses.  The Essential Question "What are our five senses?" and Focusing Question "How do people use their senses to learn about the world?" have guided students through rich discussions, explorations, and texts within their literacy block.  This week, students were introduced to K-9 Mika and Master Patrol Officer Stutesman.  K-9 Mika uses her five senses in every important job she encounters with the Zionsville Police Department.  Thank you Master Patrol Officer Stutesman, Officer Harper, and K-9 Mika for providing such a wonderful learning experience.

National Merit
Semifinalists

ZCHS is proud to announce that eight students have been named 2025 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.  The Semifinalists will complete an application and an essay in hopes of being named a Finalist in February and being awarded a Merit Scholarship next spring.
