Kindergarten students at Pleasant View Elementary School were rockin’ and rollin’ as they stepped back in time to celebrate the 50th day of school with a good old-fashioned sock hop.
From dancing feet to big smiles, these young Eagles brought plenty of energy and excitement to the dance floor. What a fun way to celebrate 50 days of learning!

"Grandfriends" Make the Day Extra Special at Trailside
First graders share sweet moments and make lasting memories with special guests
It was a special day at Trailside Elementary School when first grade students welcomed "grandfriends" into their classrooms.
Students interviewed their special guests, learning more about their lives while they shared a treat together. The visit was filled with moments that remind us of the importance of these connections. A heartfelt thank-you to all the "grandfriends" who helped make the day so memorable.

Learning Takes Flight at ZMS
Fifth grade scientists put their questions to the test with paper airplanes.
Science was taking flight in fifth grade classes at Zionsville Middle School. Students brainstormed questions about their paper airplanes to help guide their investigation.
With airplanes in hand, they collected data, tested their ideas, and worked toward drawing conclusions based on their findings. It was a fun, hands-on way to explore the scientific process while putting curiosity and critical thinking into action.

Inspiring Future Engineers at ZWMS
Purdue Women in Engineering students bring hands-on STEM learning to sixth grade classrooms.
Sixth grade science students at Zionsville West Middle School welcomed special guests from Purdue University's Women in Engineering program for an exciting engineering design challenge.
The Purdue students shared their experiences, introduced different engineering disciplines, and answered questions about opportunities in STEM fields. ZWMS sixth graders had the opportunity to put the engineering design process into action through a hands-on challenge. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to explore engineering, connect with college students, and see the possibilities for their own futures.

Going for Gold at the Ancient Greek Olympics
Zionsville Middle School sixth graders bring history to life with a little friendly competition.
Sixth grade students stepped back in time as they competed in their very own Ancient Greek Olympics. Putting a modern twist on ancient traditions, students tried their hand at events including the long jump, javelin throw, and discus. Along the way, they explored Ancient Greek culture while enjoying some friendly competition. And with only one class earning the honor of hoisting the coveted trophy, there was plenty of excitement.

Understanding School Finance
ZCS expertise helps bring a complex topic to life for communities across Indiana
There’s a new resource available to help make the sometimes-complex world of school finance a little easier to understand.
ZCS Chief Financial Officer Regina May, SFO, contributed her expertise to a statewide school finance video created in partnership with the Central Indiana Education Services Center (CIESC), Indiana School Public Relations Association (INDSPRA) and Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO).
Mrs. May joined school finance and communications professionals from across Indiana in helping develop a resource designed to explain how public schools are funded and why understanding school finance matters.
We are proud to see our CFO's knowledge and expertise contributing not only to ZCS, but to a resource that can help families and communities across the state better understand public education funding.
School finance can be complicated. Take a few minutes to watch the video and learn more.

Tyrese Haliburton Spotlights Organ Donation with Peyton Manning Children's Hospital
Tyrese Haliburton has partnered with Indiana Donor Network and Donate Life Indiana to highlight the need for lifesaving organs. He and his wife, Jade, recently visited organ transplant recipients at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
“Meeting the kids today has shown me the very real side of this: that organ donation saves lives,” Tyrese said. More than 1,200 people are currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant here in Indiana, and just one organ donor can save up to eight lives.
