New Website
Launch

Refreshed design offers simplified look and familiar navigation for families and community

After months of planning, design work, and preparation, Zionsville Community Schools will roll over to its new website some time on Tuesday, September 2, immediately following the Labor Day weekend.

The updated site features a cleaner, simplified design while keeping navigation familiar, ensuring families and community members can continue to find what they need quickly and easily. The refreshed look also better reflects who we are as a district and where we are headed.

The new website will serve as an important platform for sharing the ZCS story and serving as a point of connection in a clear and engaging way.

New Inside the Classroom
Storytelling Series

New digital story series highlights authentic teaching and learning across the district

Zionsville Community Schools has launched a new storytelling series titled Inside the Classroom. The initiative is designed to give families, staff, and the broader community an authentic look at teaching and learning across ZCS schools.

This first feature spotlights Matt Mulholland’s AP Physics class at Zionsville Community High School, where students conducted a hands-on lab applying mathematics to predict and test constant velocity collisions of motorized toy cars. Through photos, video, and teacher insights, the piece illustrates how classroom experiences bring learning to life for students.

The Inside the Classroom series will continue throughout the school year, showcasing a variety of grade levels, subjects, and instructional approaches. This effort underscores the district’s commitment to celebrating the excellence happening daily in ZCS classrooms.

EagleFest 2025
Brings Community Together

Annual tradition celebrates school pride, connection, and support for ZCS

Another successful EagleFest is in the books, and once again the event showcased the strong community spirit that defines Zionsville Community Schools. Families, students, staff, neighbors, and local businesses came together on Jennings Field to celebrate the start of a new school year in a festival atmosphere filled with music, food, games, and community.

EagleFest is more than a back-to-school tradition. It is a reflection of the pride and support the community has for its schools. From student performers and volunteers to local organizations and business partners, countless hands and hearts contributed to the day’s success. The event culminated in Friday night football, giving families a chance to cheer on the Eagles.

ZCS extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made EagleFest possible. Your support of Zionsville Community Schools makes events like this not only memorable, but also meaningful as we work together to ensure that our schools remain places where students engage, create, and belong.

Wit and Wisdom Comes to Life
with a Special Visitor

Union first graders meet a miniature donkey during literacy enrichment lesson

Union Elementary first graders recently brought their Wit & Wisdom reading module to life with a memorable hands-on experience. After reading Waiting for the Biblioburro, students had the opportunity to meet Jubal, a miniature therapy donkey.

In the story, a traveling “biblioburro” delivers books to children. While Jubal didn’t carry a library on his back, he delighted students by greeting them, answering their questions (with help from his owner), and handing out bookmarks as a keepsake.

The enrichment activity connected literature to real life, sparking curiosity and joy while reinforcing lessons in reading, culture, and community. This is an example of how ZCS classrooms bring stories off the page and create lasting learning memories for students.
