A Concert
For Every Learner
A must-see highlight video inside the ZMS Sensory Friendly Concert
Fourth annual sensory-friendly concert at Zionsville Middle School brings music, movement, and connection for all students
Music filled Zionsville Middle School during the fourth annual sensory-friendly concert, an event thoughtfully designed for all students to experience the joy of music in a welcoming, flexible environment.
The concert created a space for students to enjoy live student band performances, dancing with friends, and an opportunity to explore instruments. Students clapped and danced along to familiar tunes, and even tried instruments alongside band members and staff.
More than a concert, this concert reflects Zionsville Community Schools’ commitment to inclusion and belonging. By creating opportunities where all learners can participate together, students build confidence, friendships, and a shared love of the arts.
The sensory-friendly concert continues to grow each year, offering a reminder that when we design experiences with every student in mind, music truly becomes a place where everyone belongs.

French Tradition
Brings Learning to Life
Students celebrate La Chandeleur with culture and connection
French students recently celebrated La Chandeleur, a traditional French holiday centered on community, light, and crêpes. Observed on February 2, the holiday marks the midpoint between winter and spring and symbolizes warmth and renewal, reflected in the crêpe’s golden color and circular shape.
As part of their current unit on celebrations and festivals, students explored the cultural meaning behind the tradition before enjoying their own sweet crêpes topped with honey, chocolate chips, whipped cream, applesauce, and cinnamon sugar. Experiences like this bring language learning to life by connecting classroom instruction with real-world cultural traditions.

Science Fairs

Young elementary and middle school scientists showcase creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning
Science Fairs across the district continue to transform learning spaces into a hubs of exploration and innovation as students proudly share their science fair projects. From testing hypotheses and analyzing data to building models and designing experiments, students are demonstrating critical thinking and perseverance at every grade level.
These experiences highlight how hands-on learning encourages curiosity, builds confidence, and helps students develop skills they will carry with them far beyond the classroom. Across Zionsville Community Schools, young scientists continue to explore, question, and discover every day.

ZCHS Students Bring the Progressive Era to Life
Students step into history through immersive character roles
Zionsville Community High School AP U.S. History students recently stepped back in time by taking on the roles of influential figures from the Progressive Era. Through research, character development, and interactive discussion, students represented reformers, journalists, politicians, and activists who helped shape this transformative period in American history.
By embodying historical perspectives, students deepened their understanding of social change, civic responsibility, and the lasting impact of reform movements. Experiences like this encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and engagement while helping students connect classroom learning to the authentic events that continue to influence society today.
