Unified Champions
Game Day (K-8)

Video Highlights from Unified Champions Game Day (K-8)

Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.
Special Olympics motto

ZCS recently held its annual Unified Champions Game Day. Our youngest K-8 champions had their day at the Zionsville Middle School (ZMS) track. Competitors brought everything they had during one of our favorite days of the school year.

Thank you to Director of Unified Student Services Casey Allen and her team, along with all families and teachers, who make these days possible for our students.

World Premier
Concert

In 2021, Zionsville Middle School Teachers Chris and Ashley Murray received grants as part of the Lilly Endowment’s Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program allowing them to travel to Acadia, Olympic, Everglades, and Big Bend National Parks.

They hiked, journaled, and photographed the parks and then shared their collection of experiences with composer Ryan Fraley. He composed an original, four-movement piece based on those travels. Each movement was inspired by the landscapes and wildlife in the places visited. Eighth grade band and orchestra students learned and performed the inspirations behind each movement.

The project took nearly three years to complete and the students were thrilled to take part in the world premiere performance of this remarkable work.

Trailside
Author Visit

First graders at Trailside Elementary recently enjoyed a special visit with award-winning children's book author Rebecca Kai Dotlich. Trailside first grade teachers used one of Dotlich's most popular books, One Day, the End, as a catalyst to their young author's unit that wraps up the school year. During the visit, students learned firsthand about the writing and publishing processes and had an opportunity to participate in a special writing exercise with Ms. Dotlich. The author also brought signed copies of her books for the Trailside Library. It was an experience Trailside students and staff won't forget.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Online registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now available.

Please follow the instructions you received in the personalized email from Zionsville Community Schools on Tuesday, May 7th.  Registration information is vital for ensuring that you receive information about the 2024-2025 school year, for maintaining records to ensure student safety, and in compliance reporting required of us on behalf of all enrolled students (for various state and local agencies).  Please remember that this notification may have been sent to multiple parent/guardian contacts.  Only ONE registration record may be submitted for each student.  A parent/guardian who starts a registration for a student becomes the only registrant possible for that student.

Please complete this registration by Friday, May 31st, 2024.

If your student will not be returning to Zionsville Community Schools next year, please complete the online student change form so that you won’t continue to receive registration notices.
