Stonegate Elementary School Webs of Support
Stonegate Elementary School held a "Webs of Support" workshop for interested fourth grade parents this week. The goal of the workshop is to provide fourth grade parents with insights into pathways for a positive transition into middle school.
Every parent, teacher and community member can be an anchor for a young person. The “Webs of Support” framework helps create and uphold the essential foundations for youth to thrive as they transition from elementary to middle to high school and beyond.
Upcoming sessions, led by Lynn Kissel-Brown, include:

visit Purdue
Twenty-two students and two teachers visiting the Purdue Nuclear Reactor
Twenty-two students and two teachers visiting the Purdue Nuclear Reactor
The Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) Quantum Mechanics Club, Astronomy Club, and Women in STEM Club took a joint field trip to Purdue University to tour the PUR 1 nuclear reactor and the Brick Nanotechnology Center. The twenty-two students and two teachers had an opportunity to see the nuclear reactor and learn about some of the exciting opportunities in nanotechnology during their tour of the largest “clean air” room in the country.
Students learned that this is the only nuclear reactor in the state of Indiana, and though it functions identical to commercial nuclear power plant reactors, it only produces 1KW of power and is used exclusively for research and education.
ZCHS Senior Audrey Schmal was instrumental in organizing this field trip. Audrey is the president of the ZCHS Astronomy Club and the founder and president of the ZCHS Quantum Physics Club.

Mark your calendars!
Save the date for a districtwide presentation on February 6, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. hosted in the ZCHS Star Bank Performing Arts Center. Representatives from Be SMART have prepared a presentation and are extending an invitation for a conversation concerning children, firearms, and responsible gun storage.
The Be SMART framework is strategically designed to empower parents and adults in initiating open dialogues about gun safety. By taking responsible actions, we aim to prevent child gun deaths and injuries. The goal of the presentation is to educate and encourage the secure storage of guns—locked, unloaded, and separate from ammunition.
Be SMART and safeguard your family. Join us at this presentation to learn more about how you can help spread awareness and work together to keep all children safe.
Mark your calendars for the seventh annual ZCS Do-Days, taking place from March 7th to March 9th, 2024. Students and staff district-wide will be actively engaged in various service projects.
Help us extend the invitation to organizations in need of support during these dates. Additionally, consider the service projects your family and child would like to be a part of as we all come together to give back to our community.
