ZCS Teacher
Lives Dream

“Today was incredible. Indescribable. I never would have had this opportunity without the support, guidance, and trust from my parents, colleagues, and the students at Zionsville Middle School. I’m proud to be an Eagle!”
ZMS Teacher Brittany Moon after flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

ZMS Teacher Brittany Moon fulfilled a lifelong dream after being selected to fly with the Blue Angels. Brittany grew up around aviation and has a pilot’s license. Her message to students…never stop dreaming.

"I wanted to do this when I was 10. I would tell my students now...don't stop dreaming."
Brittany Moon, ZMS Teacher

We are so excited for you, Mrs. Moon. You are an inspiration.

Eagle
Readers

Several of our Senior VIP members are collaborating with Eagle Elementary Literacy Coach Marissa Grant, dedicating their time to read with Grade 1-3 students at Eagle Elementary School every week. This intergenerational connection benefits both students and senior community members and aligns with the district's Strong in Every Way initiative.

Interested or know someone who might be interested in the Senior VIP Program?

If you’re (technically speak- ing!) a senior citizen north of 65 years young and a resident of Eagle or Union Township, we’d like to give you free admission to hundreds of school events including plays, concerts and sporting events. There are also speeches, carnivals and other fun opportunities for you to engage, enjoy, and/or learn. This year, our Senior “VIPs” joined us for a day to learn more about what is happening in our schools and to tour the new high school construction. To participate, call Lynn Kissel-Brown at 317 873-2858, ext. 11230.

Eagle
Ambassador
Academy

Eagle Ambassador Academy cohort members participated in their second session this month - a comprehensive exploration of safety within the Zionsville Community Schools. The session, which took place at Trailside Elementary School, was guided by Director of Safety Chad Smith who provided a thorough overview of the various aspects of safety that the district prioritizes on a daily basis.

During the session, Chief Innovation Officer Dan Layton provided insights into the advanced camera technology available in each campus building. Program Director of Student Services Maggie Ioannacci discussed the district's collaborative relationships with various county agencies.

Principal Jen Raycroft conducted a tour of Trailside, the district's newest elementary school, emphasizing safety considerations throughout the school buildings.

Budget
Adopted

The ZCS Board of School Trustees met on October 23rd to consider the 2024 budget.

Mark your calendars!

Mark your calendars for the seventh annual ZCS Do-Days, taking place from March 7th to March 9th, 2024. Students and staff district-wide will be actively engaged in various service projects.

Help us extend the invitation to organizations in need of support during these dates. Additionally, consider the service projects your family and child would like to be a part of as we all come together to give back to our community.

Join us at ZEF Bash on Saturday, November 4, 2023 as we raise funds in support of our schools! Enjoy dinner, dancing to the sounds of Dave & Rae, a silent auction, and our famous Cap off the Night. Your Eagle spirit wear or that of your favorite team is perfect for this casual event. Tickets go on sale September 1st and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
