Family
engagement

Students and families embraced musical exploration and educational discovery during the Related Arts Night at Eagle Elementary School. They also had the chance to explore rhythms and percussion instruments.

Students engaged with STEM activities including Mars Vex Robots, Astronaut BeeBots, and space-themed games and activities. The gym was a wellness hub and art was on display around the school.

Thank you to all students, families and educators who made the evening a learning success.

Channel
your inner creative

Zionsville West Middle School Teacher Monica Soel kicked off this year's annual persuasive writing unit with a thrilling twist as students were surprised by the absence of their teacher. In her place, the mysterious Ms. Souls returned as a guest teacher, transforming the classroom into an underwater haven.

Guiding students through a captivating discovery unit, Ms. Souls explored the art of persuasion from a villain's perspective. The students were challenged to reconsider the notion of villains as misunderstood characters, leading to a day of thought-provoking discussions that inspired subsequent writing projects.

Mrs. Soel returned to a classroom full of creative energy, as the students embraced the role of villains in their own writing, exploring whether these characters are truly misunderstood or the architects of ingenious schemes.

Zionsville West Middle School
musicians take the stage

This week, Zionsville West Middle School (ZWMS) students played beautiful music for families. Check out photos from the evening showcasing the musical talent at ZWMS. These students are among many student musicians across the district who are performing concerts for families during the month of December.

Talent runs deep in ZCS

Many talented students from both Zionsville Middle School (ZMS) and Zionsville West Middle School (ZWMS) are set to grace the stage in two upcoming productions at the Black Box Theatre Company in Lebanon.

Among them, ZMS students Elliot Hunter and Collin McCune are taking on the lead roles of Buddy the Elf in the upcoming Elf the Musical (December 15-18). They are supported by a cast that features numerous other middle school students from Zionsville Community Schools.

Mark your calendars for the
Nutcracker Short & Suite

Don't miss the upcoming presentation of "Nutcracker Short & Suite" presented by the Village Dance Studio. This production showcases more than 100 local dancers from Zionsville, Whitestown, and surrounding communities. Specifically tailored for young children and families, it promises to be a magical experience for all.

Congratulations!

ZMS Band Teacher Chris Murray achieved the honor of joining the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters' Fraternity Gamma Chapter (Indiana), the highest honorary international fraternity for band directors.

This musical fraternity is dedicated to fostering the growth of superior bands and exceptional musicians in schools worldwide.

Congratulations to Mr. Murray on this remarkable achievement!

Counselors
collaborate

ZCS school counselors at all grade levels spent time together working on strategies to enhance support for your child's academic and emotional well-being. By bringing their expertise together in one space, counselors are better equipped to share insights, resources, and strategies, ensuring a unified approach to student success.

This effort reflects the district's commitment to providing the best possible guidance and support for every student.

Mark your calendars!

Mark your calendars for the seventh annual ZCS Do-Days, taking place from March 7th to March 9th, 2024. Students and staff district-wide will be actively engaged in various service projects.

Help us extend the invitation to organizations in need of support during these dates. Additionally, consider the service projects your family and child would like to be a part of as we all come together to give back to our community.

As we prepare for ZCHS Principal Tim East's upcoming retirement, ZCS Superintendent Dr. Coffman has outlined the process and timeline for selecting the next ZCHS Principal and extended an invitation to families, students, and community members to actively participate in the process by providing input through a survey.

Anyone interested in contributing feedback on what they believe to be critical for the future of ZCHS is encouraged to submit the form via the QR code provided below.
