Giving Back
to our community
This week (March 7-9), staff, students and families are engaged in service projects as a way to give back to the community as part of the district's annual ZCS Do-Days.

Next week's Friday Five will include a full wrap-up with photos of the many projects completed throughout our community.
Please send your project description and any photos you have to Janet Mann at jmann@zcs.k12.in.us so we can include your project in our full wrap-up piece.

Congratulations to the Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) Winter Guard team who recently traveled to the Winter Guard International Regional in Chicago. Fifty-two (52) performing groups from nine different states participated. There were 26 groups in our category, and after two amazing performances, ZCHS advanced to the finals and finished in fifth place overall. Thank you for representing Zionsville Community Schools well.
This season's ZCHS Winter Guard show is "The End, As We Knew It."
The Cadet Guard, comprised of Zionsville Middle School and Zionsville West Middle School students in grades 5 - 8, is also having an outstanding season.

Teachers and Administrators preparing for the upcoming Literacy Textbook Adoption Review Meetings
Elementary school parents are invited to review literacy textbook materials and share feedback as we engage in our anticipated adoption this year.
The Indiana Department of Education recently released their list of acceptable core reading programs for elementary schools. ZCS Elementary Schools are currently using a tool based on the science of how children learn to read and our program evaluation data to review textbook materials and make a recommendation for literacy adoption. Parents are also invited to attend a brief presentation on the Science of Reading and then provide feedback on the materials currently being considered.
All sessions will take place at the Educational Services Center, 900 Mulberry Street, in the Board Room. Please enter door 31 and bring a photo ID to check in during the school day.
Session 1: March 20, 12:00 – 1:30 pm
Session 2: March 20, 6:00-7:30 pm
Session 3: March 21, 10:00-11:30 am
Each session will begin with a 20-minute presentation and then participants will be able to review the materials at their own pace and provide feedback. Please reach out to Christine Squier, Director of Academic Services, if you have any questions (csquier@zcs.k12.in.us).

Class of 2024
Attention Class of 2024 Families: send in a photo of your senior wearing something that shows what's next!
Attention Class of 2024 Families: send in a photo of your senior wearing something that shows what's next!
We know it's still a little early and some seniors haven't finalized plans yet, but when you do...
We will be producing a district video with photos of the ZCHS Class of 2024 seniors. Please share a photo of your senior wearing spirit wear or posed in a setting showing their next steps. For some, this will be donning a college sweatshirt, while others will be pursuing trades, a gap year, beginning a career or enlisting in a branch of the military. We want to celebrate all students!
Send photos to: zcsphotos@zcs.k12.in.us with the subject line ZCHS Class of 2024.
