Congratulations Class of 2024

Celebrating the Class of 2024 was the highlight of the June board meeting. ZCS Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman led the evening by inviting Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) Principal Tim East to the podium to talk about the outstanding accomplishments of this year's senior class. In other board business

ZCHS Golf Team

During the board meeting, ZCS Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman announced that the ZCHS Boys Golf Team was competing for the state title. She extended her best wishes to the team.

We are proud to report that the ZCHS Boys Golf Team won the state championship, marking their first state title victory since 2004. Congratulations!

3D Printing Parts Initiative

Director of Operations, Matt Doublestein, invited Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) Project Lead the Way (PLTW) teacher, Jason Donkersloot, and 2024 ZCHS graduate, Jackson Herbold, to present their 3D printing initiative.

Jackson was seeking a work-based learning experience and accepted the task of coordinating with ZCS certified electricians to create needed items using 3D printing software and equipment. Jackson gained practical experience while earning school credit. In addition, his work supported the maintenance team and resulted in a significant savings for the district.

Indiana Department of Education Updates

Zionsville Community Schools (ZCS) has been awarded a Digital Learning Grant totaling $26,423.
ZCS received official notice that the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) agrees with the Federal Compliance Audit Report.
ZCS received official notice that we have been awarded the Performance Qualified School District (PQSD) status for the 2024-2025 school year.
The next State Board of Education (SBOE) public meeting will be on July 17, 2024.

Policy Revision Second Reading

A revision to the policy regarding student use of wireless communications devices during instructional time was a approved.

New Business

A request for a a website redesign was approved.
A request for a Union Elementary School Boiler Replacement was approved.
A request for a ZCHS Chiller purchase was approved.
The new academic calendars for 2025-2028 were approved.

Next Meeting

The next regular board meeting is July 8 at 6 p.m. in the Zionsville Community Schools Educational Services Center at 900 Mulberry Street, Zionsville.
