Celebrating Excellence in ZCS: Teachers of the Year, Service Milestones, Retiree Honors, and School Board Recognition

During the May Board of School Trustees meeting, Zionsville Community Schools celebrated outstanding educators by recognizing the Teachers of the Year from each school. Among this distinguished group, Zionsville Middle School Teacher Evan Schroeder was named the District Teacher of the Year and will represent ZCS in the state competition.

The evening also included recognition of staff members who reached service milestones and those retiring from the district, honoring their dedication and impact on students and the school community.

In addition to recognizing educators, the Zionsville Community Schools Board of School Trustees was awarded the Exemplary Governance Award by the Indiana School Boards Association. This recognition celebrates school boards that demonstrate outstanding commitment to student success and governance through ongoing professional learning.

Additional honors were presented to individual board members, including Dr. Christy Wessell Powell and Vice President Mike Berg for their leadership achievements. Board Member Jennifer Valentine also earned Advanced level recognition for her dedicated service as a Legislative Liaison.
