NOVEMBER BOARD MEETING
Superintendent's Report
Thank you, veterans
Dr. Rebecca Coffman began the evening by thanking veterans for their service. A special thank you to the veterans in our community who took time to be with ZCS students in various programs across the district in honor of Veterans Day.
State Champion Lady Eagles Golf Team recognized
During the November Board Meeting, Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) Athletic Director Greg Schellhase introduced the State Champion ZCHS Lady Eagles Golf Team along with HCC Golf Coach of the Year, Maggie Nobbe, for recognition. Two team members shared their experiences, and Freshman State Champion Taylor Snively was invited to the podium for special acknowledgment. Mr. Schellhase highlighted that Maggie Nobbe was not only a State Champion coach but also a former state golf athlete for ZCHS, underscoring her legacy in the sport.
Schellhase also noted that Zionsville Community High School United Flag Football Coach, Andrew Slack, was named HCC Coach of the Year. And, Zionsville received the prestigious HCC Fall Sportsmanship Award.
Strategic Planning Process
Superintendent Coffman shared an update on the district's strategic planning process, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in shaping the district’s future. She expressed gratitude for the strong engagement, noting that more than 150 individuals—including staff, students, families, and community members—participated in focus groups to offer valuable insights. Additionally, nearly 2,500 responses were gathered through a community-wide survey. A steering committee is currently reviewing every piece of feedback to ensure it informs future planning, with their next meeting scheduled for December.
