Pleasant View Elementary School's young authors recently shared their original stories with preschool students. Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman joined one of the special reading sessions, celebrating the creativity and storytelling talents of our young writers.

Unified Champions Track and Field 2025 highlights
Athletes compete in annual Unified Track and Field competition
Zionsville Community Schools hosted its annual Unified Champions Track and Field Day for students in grades K-8, bringing together athletes of all abilities for a day of fun, competition and camaraderie. From sprints to relays, and field events, students showcased their talents and supported one another, creating great memories. The event highlighted the power of inclusion and teamwork, celebrating every participant as a true champion.

Zionsville Middle School Teacher of the Year Evan Schroeder named ZCS District Teacher of the Year

During the May Board of School Trustees meeting, Zionsville Community Schools celebrated outstanding educators by recognizing the Teachers of the Year from each school. Among this distinguished group of educators, Zionsville Middle School Teacher Evan Schroeder was named the District Teacher of the Year and will represent ZCS in the state competition. Congratulations, Evan!

Union Elementary Second Graders become young entrepreneurs
ZCS students explore economics through market day
Union Elementary Second Graders recently transformed their classrooms into marketplaces for a fun Market Day event. As young entrepreneurs, they designed, created and sold handmade products to peers, gaining firsthand experience in the basics of economics.
From colorful crafts to creative snacks, the students proudly showcased their products while learning the value of teamwork and problem-solving. This engaging hands-on experience not only brought economic concepts to life but also sparked a spirit of creativity and fun among our young learners.

During the May Board of School Trustees Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman announced that the Zionsville Community Schools Board of School Trustees was awarded the Exemplary Governance Award by the Indiana School Boards Association.

Congratulations
ZCHS students excel on national stage at BPA conference
Six Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) students recently showcased their skills at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. To qualify, students competed in regional and state competitions, earning top placements. One student participating virtually secured a spot by finishing in the top 10.
These outstanding students excelled on the national stage:
- James (Jimmy) Hannigan: Top 10 in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (8th out of 204 competitors).
- Gordon Moore, Nicholas Horn, Akshara Amudhan, and Arianna Kroon: Top 10 in Financial Analyst Team (4th out of 38 teams after placing 1st in preliminary judging).
- Rachel Procter: 29th in Medical Coding among 52 students.
It was a memorable experience filled with learning, networking and fun. Congratulations to these exceptional students for their achievements and professionalism on the national stage.
ZCHS Shark Pond competition showcases young entrepreneurs
Zionsville Community High School (ZCHS) recently held its annual Shark Pond competition, where student entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas to a panel of experienced judges. This exciting event, modeled after the popular Shark Tank concept, provided students with a platform to showcase their creativity, problem-solving and business skills.
Congratulations to this year’s top winners:
- 1st Place: Evan Walker (Junior)
- 2nd Place: Avery Worrel (Junior)
- 3rd Place: Alexis Bengs and Keira Dunning (Seniors)
Special thanks to Star Bank for providing business accounts with $300 in startup funds for the top three winners and to the Zionsville Education Foundation (ZEF) for the event trophies.
Thank you to the judges, experienced professionals, who offered valuable feedback, helping students refine their ideas and develop a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship.
