Finding the music
that comes next
A first look at the secondary music journey for ZCS fourth graders
Music is in the air! Watch the video and imagine what comes next.
Fourth graders across Zionsville Community Schools had a sneak peek at what awaits them in music at the secondary level. A short performance from Zionsville Community High School musicians and vocal artists introduced students to band, choir, and orchestra and demonstrated how music continues to grow as students move from elementary to middle and high school.
The show was designed to spark curiosity and excitement, helping students imagine themselves on stage one day while reinforcing an important message: everyone starts somewhere, and there is a place for every student in ZCS music. From first notes to full performances, the journey continues, and it begins with exploration.

A ZCS graduate finds the joy in giving back to the community that shaped her
MacKenzie Luse grew up in the community attending Zionsville Community Schools, and today, she is helping shape the next generation as a kindergarten teacher at Boone Meadow Elementary School.
In this Voices of ZCS feature, MacKenzie reflects on the traditions that made school feel magical, the mentors who guided her path, and the joy of teaching our youngest learners. The story includes a video interview with Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Coffman that brings her full-circle journey to life.

Pedal Power
in Wellness
Students ride, learn, and blend healthy habits
Students experienced the excitement of cycling during Wellness through the Kids Riding Bikes™ program by Nine13sports. The gym was transformed into a virtual ride, including a trip through the Stonegate neighborhood, with stationary bikes and interactive technology. Along the way, students learned bike safety rules and hand signals while building fitness, confidence, and teamwork.
The fun continued with “Blender Bikes,” where pedaling powered the blenders. This hands-on activity helped students see the connection between movement and nutrition in a memorable and engaging way.
Thank you to the Stonegate PTO for funding this program and to parent volunteers for their time and donated supplies.
