Thank you
ZEF

Check out the moment high school STEM students learned that the Zionsville Education Foundation awarded their grant.

The Zionsville Education Foundation (ZEF) awarded a Student Enrichment Grant to Sebastian Gray, Andrew Schonlau, Luke Kouns, and Truett Weber. The students are creating a Makerspace in Zionsville Community High School that will be open to all students. The $6,000 ZEF Student Enrichment Grant will give the Makerspace a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) desktop machine.  A CNC machine works by incrementally removing material from raw stock geometry, i.e., rectangular blocks of materials such as wood, plastics, or metal. Access to this machine will provide hands-on learning and skills for future careers. Students will be able to digitally and physically bring their ideas to life, fostering STEM learning of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing processes (CAM).

The Makerspace will be a collaborative workspace where students come together to create, design, and build items of their own innovation through self-driven, inquiry-based learning. The newly established ZCHS Makerspace aspires to provide open access to hands-on learning and STEM engagement to all students.

Your generous donations to the Zionsville Education Foundation make these moments possible. Thank you!

Winter
is here

ZCS Superintendent of Schools Rebecca Coffman and Director of Operations Matt Doublestein take you inside weather preparedness and school schedule decision-making as teams actively monitor the possibility of winter weather this season.

As we enter this winter season, it's critical that we all stay vigilant about potential weather disruptions to our regular school routine. Our dedicated teams, including the morning eyes team, facility crews, and local street and highway department professionals collaborate with the ZCS superintendent to prioritize the safety of both staff and students to make informed decisions about school schedules. Thank you to everyone involved in this collaborative effort.

We strongly encourage families to remain weather-aware and stay connected with us. In the event of a school delay or closure, you will promptly receive updates via ParentSquare. Additionally, schedule changes will be communicated across various platforms, including all media outlets, social media channels, and our school website. Thank you for your support.
